American rock band The Doors were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, with singer Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitar player Robby Krieger, and drummer John Densmore. They were amongst the most questionable and influential rock acts of the 1960s; mostly due to Morrison's lyrics and voice, together with his erratic phase persona, and the group was widely concerned as a fundamental part of the period's counterculture.

The band continued as a trio up until disbanding in 1973. They released 3 more albums in the 1970s, two of which included earlier recordings by Morrison, and over the decades reunited on phase in different setups.
